Tapaas Chakravarti

Tapaas Chakravarti, CMD and CEO of DQ Entertainment, an Animation, Gaming and Visual effects powerhouse, has over 20 years of national and international corporate experience.

He set up DQ Entertainment in 1998 at Hyderabad and in the process pioneered the Animation industry in India. DQ Centres of Learning and Excellence was set up to overcome the scarcity of trained animators and visual effects and gamimg development personnel. DQE now has over 3000 employees. Tapaas has overseen development of proprietary ERP to track and scheduled complex production processes at DQE.

Tapaas has been recognized for his leadership, managerial skills and his contribution to the Indian Animation industry.  In 2008, he was presented with a special award at the FICCI FRAMES BAF for his contribution to the Indian Animation Industry. Tapaas was chosen as the entrepreneur of the year in 2005. His company was also won the prestigious Red Herring Award in 2005.

Under his aegis DQ Entertainment was awarded Top100 Asian Pvt. Start-up company in 2005 and was winner of Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2006 Program and Technology Fast 50 India 2006 program. Shows produced by his company have received nominations and awards at forums like ANNECY, EMMY, CARTOONS ON THE BAY, FICCI BAF etc.

Currently under production at DQE are iconic international properties such as Iron Man, Casper, Pinky & Perky, Twisted Whiskers, Mikido, Little Nick, Le Petit Prince and many others.
